Dr Sophie Davison
Chief Medical Officer Mental Health at the Mental Health Commission
Dr Sophie Davison is the Chief Medical Officer Mental Health at the Mental Health Commission and Adjunct Senior lecturer at UWA and UNSW. In her role as Chief Medical Officer Mental Health she is responsible for working closely with the Mental Health Commission, health sector leaders, WA’s Department of Health and stakeholders across the mental health sector to ensure strategic system-level clinical advice on mental health, alcohol and other drug issues is an integral consideration in the development of mental health policy, planning, commissioning and reform.
She was previously the Deputy Chief Psychiatrist of WA, involved in overseeing the standards of mental health care in WA.
Dr Sophie Davison is a Forensic Psychiatrist and has worked in a variety of clinical settings in the UK and in WA. Most recently she provided mental health care to women in Bandyup Women’s Prison.
