Phil Britten

Bali bombing survivor and entrepreneur

@ 8.40am – 9.30am (Day two)

Phil Britten is a multi-award winning international speaker, best-selling author, entrepreneur and professional martial artist. His unique successes saw him win the WA Business News ‘40 under 40’ award, recognising him as one of WA’s top entrepreneurs.

He was also a Top Four Finalist for the award’s highest accolade of ‘First Among Equals’. That same year, he was named ‘Most Inspiring Man of the Year ’by Momentum Forum, and also The Professional Speakers Academy ‘Australian Speaker of The Year & Australian Trainer of The Year’ two years running.

A committed Ambassador for charity, Phil has raised both funds and awareness to find a cure for childhood cancer by climbing to the peaks of Gran Paradiso (the highest peak in the Italian Alps) and Mount Kilimanjaro (one of the seven summits), trekking the Kokoda Trail, as well as running several leadership and survival treks through the Kimberly region of the Australian Outback. Phil has cemented his position as an inspiring international speaker and trainer, assisting both individuals, teams, sporting groups, school groups, corporates and companies to step up and live life to the full.

He has drawn on his unique real-life experience of triumph over tragedy, with burns to 60 per cent of his body following a terrorist bomb attack. From falling into one of the darkest moments his life had to offer, Phil’s determination has seen his star rapidly rise once more. Faced with the choice between being a victim or a survivor, he instead redefined the model of ‘do whatever it takes’ and chose to become a warrior driving home the importance of resilience.
